LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship Scheme – 2024

Objective: The scheme aims to provide scholarships to meritorious students from economically weaker sections for better opportunities in higher education and employment.

Scope

The scholarship is awarded to students studying in India in government or private colleges/universities. It also covers technical and vocational courses at ITIs and integrated courses after class XII.

Eligibility

  • General Scholarship:
    • After Class XII:
      • Passed Class XII (or equivalent) with at least 60% marks in the academic years 2021-24.
      • Enrolled in the academic year 2024-25 for a degree, diploma, or vocational course.
      • Parents’ annual income does not exceed ₹2,50,000.
    • After Class X:
      • Passed Class X (or equivalent) with at least 60% marks in the academic years 2021-24.
      • Enrolled in the academic year 2024-25 for vocational/diploma courses.
      • Parents’ annual income does not exceed ₹2,50,000.
  • Special Scholarship for Girl Child:
    • Passed Class X with at least 60% marks in the academic years 2021-24.
    • Enrolled in the academic year 2024-25 for higher studies in Intermediate (10+2), vocational, or diploma courses.
    • Parents’ annual income does not exceed ₹2,50,000.

Scholarship Duration

Scholarships are awarded for the full course duration under General Scholarships and for two years under Special Girl Scholar category.

Scholarship Amount

  • General Scholarship:
    • ₹40,000 per annum for Medical courses.
    • ₹30,000 per annum for Engineering courses.
    • ₹20,000 per annum for other courses.
  • Special Scholarship for Girl Child: ₹15,000 per annum.

Payment Process

The scholarship amount will be transferred directly to the beneficiary’s active bank account through NEFT. Candidates must provide valid account details and IFSC codes.

Conditions

  • Not applicable for post-graduate studies.
  • Minimum 60% marks in previous exams. Relaxation in income limit up to ₹4,00,000 for single mother/widow guardians.
  • Priority given to candidates with higher marks or lower parental income.
  • Students receiving scholarships from other private trusts are ineligible.
  • Part-time, correspondence, or self-study courses are not eligible.
  • Continued scholarship requires maintaining minimum marks (55% for Medical/Engineering, 50% for other courses).

Note

Students violating the scholarship’s terms will have their scholarships canceled. Misrepresentation of information will lead to immediate disqualification.
